Scott Casey
Ever since Scott was a kid he dreamed of being a lawyer. Now, over 30 years later, he has built a practice with a distinguished reputation of care for the court system, his clients, and his community at large. Scott and Debbie Casey’s love for the mountains began with their undergraduate experience at Appalachian State University and has continued to grow ever since.
Despite his great success as a criminal defense attorney and his distinguished recognition as a Board Certified Specialist in State Criminal Law, Mr. Casey’s greatest pride lies with his ability to help those in need. He is committed to obtaining the best outcome for each of his clients by treating each case with the individual attention it deserves.

Debbie Casey
In Loving Memory,
Debbie Casey was one half of Casey & Casey Law Offices, and the heart of the practice from the very beginning. She and Scott met in Florida when they were just 13 years old. Two decades of adventure later, they found their way to Boone, where they built this firm side by side, as partners in law and in life.
As an attorney, Debbie brought sharp judgment and deep compassion to her work. She finished at the top of her law school class and was one of the brightest minds the High Country legal community has known. But what people remember most about Debbie is the way she made them feel. She created the warmth and light that made the practice a place where people have felt safe and cared for, often during some of their hardest moments, for over 30 years.
Scott was the love of her life, and she was his. Her name remains on the door, and her legacy lives on in the care this firm gives to each client and to the community she loved so well.
GRACE JAYNE
Grace is a paralegal at Casey & Casey Law Offices and has been an integral part of the firm since 2020. She assists with case preparation, client communication, and the management of the firm’s criminal defense matters.
Grace graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Political Science and earned her paralegal certificate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Coming from a law enforcement family, she developed an early interest in the criminal justice system and has since gained extensive experience assisting clients through the legal process.
A proud App State alumna with strong ties to the High Country, Grace enjoys spending time with friends and family, petting dogs, and watching football. She is a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and always cheers on the Mountaineers.

Jacob Leyshon
Jacob joined Casey & Casey Law Offices in 2024 and works primarily with the firm’s expunction matters, helping clients navigate the process of clearing eligible charges and convictions from their records.
Jacob earned his Associate Degree in Paralegal Technology from Caldwell Community College and is currently completing his bachelor’s degree through Western Carolina University. His education and experience at Casey & Casey have allowed him to develop a strong understanding of the expunction process and the detailed work required to determine eligibility, prepare filings, and move cases through the court system.
Outside of the office, Jacob trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. When he is not training or working toward his bachelor’s degree, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Mariel and cat, Lena.
Hailey Scott
Hailey is a legal assistant and receptionist at Casey & Casey Law Offices. As one of the first people clients speak with when they contact the firm, Hailey helps manage the front desk, answer phones, assist with scheduling, and make sure clients are connected with the right person.
Although Hailey is new to the legal field, she has quickly become a valued member of the team. She has a genuine passion for helping people and brings a friendly, welcoming presence to the office.
Hailey enjoys reading, spending time with animals, and taking her dog on walks. She is also a vegetarian, an avid animal lover, and a self-proclaimed cheese enthusiast.
